5 Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest
The Pump House Regional Arts Center, 119 King St, La Crosse, WI
On the road traveling music festival will be featuring Madison's renowned Harmonious Wail and the Gonzalo Bergara Trio from Argentina. Tickets are $21 in advance or $25 day of show for the public or $18 in advance, $21 day of show for members.

Harmonious Wail draws from the rich musical influence of the European gypsy musicians, most notably Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, as well as crowd-pleasing vocal performances in the tradition of bands such as The Manhattan Transfer and Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. The trio lays out jazz, be-bop and Gypsy Swing, featuring smoky vocals, original songs and classic covers in an intimate performance with charm, humor and memorable musical chops. Be sure not to miss lead singer Maggie Delaney-Potthoff playing her cardboard box drum and a pair of scissors for a series of unique and perfectly-blended sounds. Bandleader Sims Delaney-Potthoff plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, while Jeff Weiss plays stand-up bass and electric bass. In 2017, Harmonious Wail is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a working band. In December 2016, the trio released its 9th CD of incredible music, "Holiday Spirits."

Gonzalo Bergara Trio, led by virtuoso composer and lead guitarist Gonzalo Bergara, mixes a cascade of arpeggios with the sounds of Paris and his native Argentina, forging his own style of progressive Gypsy Jazz. One of the most renowned Gypsy Jazz players of his generation Gonzalo has performed and recorded around the world with artists including the John Jorgensen Quintet, Sylvie Vartan, Dan Hicks and The Hot Licks and Howard Alden. 21 Bike Ride - Badger Honor Flight
Middleton, WI
Announcing a kick off Brat Fest! Benefitting the Badger Honor Flight, Capital Brewery and the Saris Cycling Group are teaming up with Brat Fest to sponsor a ride through the rolling hills of Madison's West side. Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the national Honor Flight Network. The purpose of the Honor Flight Network is to ensure that WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and terminally ill veterans from any war have the opportunity to see the memorials that have been erected in their honor. The Honor Flight Network provides all amenities to the veterans, including all transportation, meals and lodging. Everything is free to the veterans because of how much they have sacrificed for this great country already.
Our goal is to raise $35,000 to send half of a flight of 100 veterans to our nation's Capital. We are ever grateful for the sacrifice they gave to our country and this bike ride allows us to honor their services. For more information call Jeff at 608.236.2028.
